Certified Holistic Nutritionist for Root-Cause Healing

You have been told your labs are normal. You have been handed a diet sheet, a prescription, or a shrug. But you still do not feel like yourself, and nobody has looked at the whole picture: your gut, your stress, your history, your biochemistry, and how all of it fits together.

I am Samantha Gilbert, a Certified Holistic Nutrition Practitioner (CHNP) and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor (FNC). I look at you as a whole person, not a list of symptoms, and I use targeted testing to find the root cause of what is really going on.

I work with clients virtually, one on one, from anywhere in the United States and worldwide.

What Is a Holistic Nutritionist?

A holistic nutritionist looks at your health as a connected whole rather than treating one symptom at a time.

Instead of asking only what you eat, I look at how you digest, how you sleep, how you handle stress, your medication and health history, and your individual biochemistry, because all of those shape how you feel. The word holistic simply means whole. It is the opposite of the standard approach, where your gut symptoms go to one specialist, your mood goes to another, and nobody connects the two even though they are often the same problem.

In practice, holistic and functional nutrition describe the same work from two angles. Holistic is the perspective: treat the whole person and the root cause. Functional is the method: use lab testing and a detailed history to find that root cause instead of guessing. I do both.

How My Approach Is Different

I look at the whole person

Your digestion, mood, energy, hormones, sleep, and stress are not separate problems. They are one system. I treat them that way.

I test rather than guess

Functional lab testing shows me your gut, your nutrient status, your hormones, and your biochemistry, so your plan is built on what is actually happening in your body, not on a generic protocol.

I build around your individual biochemistry

No two people need the same plan. What improves one person’s anxiety or fatigue can make another person’s worse. Your plan is built specifically for you.

I work with your care team

With your consent, I coordinate with your physician, psychiatrist, or therapist so your care stays safe and joined up.

What I Help With

Because I work holistically, the people I help arrive with very different concerns. What they share is that the usual approach has not gotten to the bottom of it.

Mood and mental health

Anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood swings often have a nutritional and biochemical driver that talk therapy and medication alone do not address. Mood and nutrition.

Digestive health

Bloating, IBS, SIBO, reflux, and food sensitivities. The gut affects far more than digestion, including your mood and energy. Gut health support.

Hormone and women's health

PCOS, thyroid issues, menopause, and fertility, approached through nutrition and root-cause testing. PCOS support.

Biochemical imbalances

Copper toxicity, zinc deficiency, methylation imbalances, and pyrrole disorder, the specialized areas I have trained in for years. Copper toxicity.

Energy and chronic symptoms

Fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight, and the kind of chronic symptoms that never quite get explained.

Children's health

Mood, focus, and behavior in children often trace back to nutrition and gut health. Children's nutrition.

My Holistic Process

Everything happens virtually, one on one. You do not need to live near me and you do not need to travel.

1

Free consultation

A 20 minute call. You tell me what has been going on. I tell you honestly whether I can help and whether we are a good fit.

2

Full intake and history

We go through your whole picture: digestion, sleep, energy, mood, medications, and everything you have already tried.

3

Testing and interpretation

Test kits ship to your door. Then we sit down together and I walk you through exactly what your results mean.

4

A plan that fits your family

A plan built around your results and your real life, adjusted as we go based on what is working.

To be clear about my scope: I provide nutrition therapy and education. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide crisis counseling. I coordinate with your medical providers when appropriate.

Sami Gilbert is an earth angel. I can’t emphasize enough how much she has helped me in such a short span of time. I turned to Sami after going to many conventional doctors who got me nowhere, and even a naturopathic doctor. During our initial call, I told Sami everything I had been dealing with (horrible anxiety/panic attacks for no reason, acne, depression, intrusive thoughts, irregular periods, gut issues) that were all triggered by hormonal birth control. After I told her everything, she said: “I can help you.” While I didn’t have much faith left, my gut told me to go with Sami. Through testing, she confirmed methylation, copper and gut overgrowth issues. After 1 month (1 MONTH!) of being on her protocol, I feel like a new person – mentally and physically. I truly believe God called Sami to do this work. She is kind, patient, and can sympathize with what you are going through. I am continuing to work with her, because I haven’t felt this good in years. Thank you, Sami!!!”
