Family Nutritionist for the Whole Household, Online

When one person in the family struggles with their health, it rarely stops with them. A child’s mood, a parent’s exhaustion, a teenager’s gut issues, they are often connected, and easier to address together than one at a time.

I am Samantha Gilbert, FNC, CHNP, CNC. I work with families to get to the root of what is going on, using nutrition, functional testing, and practical changes that fit into real family life, with parents and children together or individually.

Everything is virtual, one on one, so you can work with me from anywhere in the United States and worldwide, without dragging the whole family to appointments.

You Do Not Need a Family Nutritionist Near You

Most people search for a family nutritionist near me, expecting they have to find someone local. You do not.

What matters far more than location is finding someone with the right training for what your family is actually dealing with, and that is exactly what virtual care makes possible.

Working online also fits family life better. There is no clinic to drive to, no juggling appointments around school pickup, and no sitting in a waiting room with restless kids. We meet by video, from your home, at a time that works for you.

How I Help Families

Every family arrives with something different. Here is where I most often help:

Children's health, mood, and focus

Mood swings, hyperactivity, and focus struggles in children often trace back to nutrition and gut health rather than willpower. Children's nutrition.

Picky eating and food struggles

If mealtimes are a battle, or your child's safe foods list keeps shrinking, there is usually a reason underneath it that a plan can address.

Parent energy and wellbeing

You cannot pour from an empty cup. Parental fatigue, mood, and burnout have nutritional drivers too. Mood and nutrition.

Family gut health

Digestive issues can run in families, partly through genetics and partly through shared diet. Addressing them together often works better. Gut health.

Prenatal and postpartum nutrition

Growing families have specific needs before, during, and after pregnancy. Prenatal and postpartum support.

Inherited biochemical patterns

Many imbalances, including copper, zinc, and methylation issues, have a genetic component that shows up across multiple family members. Understanding the pattern helps the whole family.

Why Families Are Better Addressed Together

When I work with a family, I can see patterns that are invisible when you look at one person in isolation. A shared gut issue, an inherited biochemical tendency, a household diet that is affecting everyone differently. Treating the family as a connected whole is not only more effective, it is usually more practical, because you are cooking, shopping, and living together.

This does not mean everyone has to be a client. Sometimes I work with one parent and give them what they need to support the whole household. Sometimes it is a child and a parent together. We shape it around your family.

How We Work Together

Everything happens virtually, one on one. You do not need to live near me and you do not need to travel.

1

Free consultation

A 20 minute call. You tell me what has been going on in your family. I tell you honestly whether I can help and how best to approach it.

2

Full intake and history

We review diet, sleep, digestion, energy, mood, and health history for the person we’re focusing on. Family patterns often become clear during this process.

3

Testing and interpretation

Test kits ship to your door and are completed at home. Then we go through exactly what the results mean, together.

4

A plan that fits your family

Practical, realistic changes built around how your family actually eats and lives, adjusted as we go.

To be clear about my scope: I provide nutrition therapy and education. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide crisis counseling. I coordinate with your family’s medical providers when appropriate.

Why Work With Me

I have spent more than 18+ years helping people, including children and whole families, address the nutritional and biochemical roots of mood, focus, digestion, and chronic symptoms.

My training includes advanced nutrient therapy with Drs. Mensah and Bowman at Mensah Medical, work with Dr. William Walsh at the Walsh Research Institute, and functional testing and GI Map training through the Pomeroy Institute. I am a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and the Nutritional Therapy Association.

Prior to finding Sami, our family was stuck in a nightmarish event, as my daughter was trapped in a recurring cycle of defiance and lack of emotional regulation, OCD behaviors, and overwhelming sensory issues. This cycle crippled our daily activities and stole precious time from my daughter’s childhood and our family. We previously worked with two functional medicine doctors that provided some much needed reprieve, but my daughter did not truly begin to heal until we did extensive testing with Sami and received a honed-in nutritional and supplement protocol specific to my daughter’s needs. We are now a year out with Sami’s protocol and my daughter is thriving emotionally and academically. We are forever grateful to Sami and her team. I will continue to recommend her to every other family dealing with similar circumstances.
